STOPPING TO "SMELL THE ROSES"

For those of you that know me well, I tend to be quite a worrier. I've been watching all these terrible events taking place in the news lately and I literally about have an anxiety attack. Then this evening, as I was taking a walk with my kids, I had this lightbulb moment. We were walking, the sun was setting, the temperature was perfect, the kids were happy, the landscape around us was beautiful. Then I had this incredible feeling come over me that my Heavenly Father loves me and is very much aware of me. It was almost like time just stopped for a moment. Through all this craziness in the world and all the craziness going on in our lives right now, I couldn't help but just take a minute to look around at all the little things He gives me on a daily basis to remind me of his love. I am so blessed and so grateful for my life. I have a wonderful husband who loves me and my children. He works so hard to provide such a nice life for us. He's been out of town for a few days and we are really missing him. I am so grateful for my beautiful children. I can't even begin to imagine my life without them. They bring so much joy into our home. My little Sydney is growing up so fast. She said the prayer in opening exercises in primary today. She was so brave and I was so proud of her. It was a big moment in her little life. My little Travis isn't so little anymore. He is talking so good and loves to sleep in his new big boy bed. I'm grateful that we have another little spirit coming into our home soon. I can't wait to meet him! I'm so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for the things that it teaches me. I'm also grateful I had enough sense today to just stop and "smell the roses" and take a look around me. It's moments like this that really make an impression on my life.

Miles, Hailey, and I have been enjoying evening walks too. Walking with my kids has been a nice way to unwind and be able to think without any distractions. I've had wonderful, thoughtful moments out walking too. I know what you mean about counting blessings. What beautiful thoughts to share!
