We were all in desperate need of some R & R, so Mark suggested we drive to San Diego for the weekend. We have lived in Southern Arizona for almost 2 years and haven't been to California yet. San Diego is only a little over 5 hours, so at the last minute we packed our bags and loaded in the car. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and just settled in to our condo and relaxed the rest of the day. Monday we woke up to a terrible rain storm. It rained most the day, so we just drove around and did some sightseeing. We drove to the temple, although it was closed, and then drove up the coast through La Jolla. Even though it was raining, it was still a fun day. Thankfully the weather was much better on Tuesday, so we took the kids to the San Diego Zoo. What a fun place! We had an absolute ball. We were there most the day and were pooped by the time we got back to the condo. Wednesday, we woke up and drove home in time for Mark to be to work that afternoon. It was a fast trip, but we are glad we did it.

That looks like so much fun despite the rain! Because back here in Utah, we are dealing with SNOW yuck!
We love the San Diego Zoo! So much fun, sometimes those quick trips are a hassle at first...BUT SO WORTH IT!glad you had fun and got to get away.
We did something similar the beginning of the year, we only stayed one day though. Glad you had fun. San Diego is a great place for vacation.
