HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Today didn't turn out exactly like I had hoped, but it was still a good day. Last year was such an awful Thanksgiving for us that I wanted to make sure this year was more traditional and fun. (Last year was our first year away from our extended family and some friends in Phoenix invited us to their house for dinner. The morning of Thanksgiving they called and their whole family was sick with the flu. Since it was too late to make dinner, we went out to eat all by ourselves. It was awful..memorable..but awful.) All week I've been planning to make the traditional Thanksgiving dinner for us for my first time. Even though I'm 9 months pregnant, I was still determined to do it.
Then my little Travis got sick yesterday. So that definitely put a damper on our plans. He's been pretty miserable for two days and all he wants is for me to hold him. Somehow, the dinner got made and everything turned out fine. Sydney and I decorated the Christmas tree today and got all our decorations out. That was fun to do with her. She's been a pretty good sport since we've been stuck at home for two days. She made placemats for our dinner table and then later in the evening we sat down and she wrote her letter to Santa. I've tried to keep her busy and make the day fun for her. When we were decorating the tree she told me that this was the best day EVER! (Which is pretty sad if that is true.) So I guess it didn't turn out too bad after all. Travis seems to be doing better tonight, so we'll see what the morning brings.
P.S. My next post better be a Baby Announcment, but he still doesn't seem to be in any hurry!

I bet Sydney just had so much fun being with you and getting ready for Christmas. I think it's those little things that mean a lot to our kids sometimes. Hopefully Travis is better today. I can't wait to see pictures of your baby! Any day now...

I'm glad that you were able to enjoy your Thanksgiving. That's so cute that Sydney thought decorating was the best day ever. Good luck in the next few days!
