This week has been busy with a lot of little things, but not too eventful. The past few days I've been making my first attempt at canning peaches ALONE! I've always had one of my grandma's helping me. So far I've only canned 8 jars of jam and 7 quarts of peaches. I froze the rest, so we can munch on fresh peaches throughout the year....our favorite! I had a lot of fun doing it and am thinking about going to get some more. We'll see, though. I can barely stand the added heat to my house and I don't know how much more my ankles can take. Pregnancy and the Arizona heat are not a great mixture I've decided.
Funny story: The day I was going to make the jam, on her very own, Sydney offered our family prayer before Mark left for work and she asked Heavenly Father to help mommy so the jam wouldn't be black or brown. I wasn't quite sure how to take that one. I appreciated her being on my side, but am not sure what has happened in the past to create such a lack of confindence in my cooking skills.

Don't you just love how they look on the counter when you are finished!! Way to go! :)
Yum! Good job! You are going to enjoy the fruits of your labor for a long time!!
Yum! I would LOVE to learn that skill. I've got the jam down, but bottling other things is not something I've tried. Anyway, they look so good.
